Texas Pipeline Awareness Alliance

The Texas Pipeline Awareness Alliance (TPAA) is an alliance of companies that engage in the operation and ownership of natural gas, oil, liquid, hydrocarbon and hazardous liquid pipeline, storage and ancillary facilities in Texas.  TPAA is the largest collaborative pipeline safety media campaign in the United States.  Each member company benefits from the $485,000 multi-media pipeline awareness campaign to satisfy the RP1162 requirements and integrity management audits in 2014.  Fourteen companies currently contribute to and participate in the alliance.  Participating companies annually receive a multimedia campaign documentation book and all advertising affidavits to use for audits and reviews.

Some media highlights for the year include: television advertising during the 2014 Winter Olympics, magazine placements, college football radio and television ads and local network broadcast advertising.  TPAA will participate in the National 811 Day.  TPAA members and representatives attend cultural events to promote pipeline safety to Spanish speaking communities.  The three awareness messages most often delivered are: Call Before You Dig, Right of Way and Signs of a Leak.
