This one of a kind annual meeting brings supply chain professionals from natural gas midstream, pipeline, and distribution companies together with businesses who provide goods and services to the industry. Educational sessions and information sharing focus on strategic supply chain and project development challenges impacting natural gas operators, while conference receptions and dinners provide opportunities for informal discussions and relationship building.
Supply Chain Leadership Makes a Difference Climbing through the ranks from private to sergeant to the second highest ranked supply chain and logistician professional in the U.S. Army - Lieutenant General, and now CEO of Wyche Consulting, Larry shares the highs and lows of being a supply chain professional and leader with over 35 years of experience. Over the years his learned that “Leadership Makes a Difference.” Despite the many challenges you may face as a supply chain professional- there is no excuse for not delivering to your customer. Whether you are a first line, mid-level manager, director or CEO, and as in his case, the senior supply chain and logistician professional in Afghanistan or leading a $58 billion day-to-day supply chain enterprise, he shares with you examples and stories of the significance of taking care of and being there for your employees as a supply chain leader. Balance and your life matters and that a key to success is understanding your potential as Larry initially struggled with this, but learned that with good health that the sky is the limit and that being a supply chain leader and professional were truly a joy a blessing and that good leadership makes a difference. Topics to be discussed include: • What does Supply Chain need to do to get a seat on the boardroom table? • What’s your excuse for not delivering? • Do you know your potential? • From follower to leader: making the jump • As team structures become more complex, how can you reinforce your position as a leader? • How to communicate the value of leadership to your executive team I attended my first SGA Supply Chain Roundtable February 2012. I left with a wealth of knowledge and numerous contacts that I have called on over the years. After my initial conference, I could not wait to get back to the office and begin to implement some of the things I learned. The topics we covered and the conversations with new Supply Chain friends from my industry made this perhaps the best, most amazing, unforgettable, and exciting training I have ever experienced. Join us and invite a co-worker. They will thank you! (SGA ROCKS!) Not knowing what to expect, I signed up for the Southern Gas Association conference last July. The people I met were discussing supply chain for the energy industry – EXACTLY what I needed to help me improve support for my customers. The personal work experiences they shared with me, and the presentations throughout the conference, were inspirational. Not only did I learn so much at this conference I made business friendships that will last forever. With this type of networking, I am able to consult one of my business friends with issues or questions I have and receive some great feedback. Come join us, and meet me, Devon.
