SGA's Women & Leadership Forums are designed to connect, collaborate and cultivate individuals in the natural gas industry, aiming to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge.

The mission of the committee is to provide an opportunity for women to grow their professional network of mentors and business partners, learn from each other through sharing ideas, observing, interacting with established leaders, coaching and encouraging one another.

SGA's Women and Leadership Task Force has built this program around courage and pushing you to be courageous in your personal and professional life. We will begin the day with a deep dive into Embracing the U-Turn. When we understand how to pivot, we can use courage to take control and move past stumbling blocks. Then we will start the foundation to build your courageous leadership with Coming Out of the Ditch and Building the Bridge for Your Team. This hands-on activity will help you identify the importance of having the courage to listen, learn and encourage your team to transfer knowledge that goes beyond the basics of their role. Our next session tests your expertise as a leader through incidents and lessons learned. The presenters will tie in the knowledge transfer concept and what happened in their companies when a transition faltered and how they had the courage to overcome and learn how to do things better. From lessons learned, we will transition to creating an overall culture of courage and strength by creating a commitment to safety in the workplace. At the end of the first day, we will have a dinner and networking event where you will play your role and determine Who did it? in a fun, interactive Murder Mystery Dinner!

The second day of our courageous journey will open with Making the Leadership Decision. In this session, we will have a panel to address questions around having a realistic approach to working in today’s industry and preparing for your leadership role. As communication is key in any role, the next session will drive us to have the Courage to Deliver and Receive Critical Feedback. There is much research around changing how we think about feedback. If we change our mindset to ask instead of wait for feedback, we will have the strength to change our response and receive it openly. Through practical application, we will put these new skills to the test! As we wrap up the second day, we will explore Sorry, I’m not Sorry… Using Effective Language and Avoiding Imposter Syndrome. This session will provide language alternatives so we can effectively communicate.


These sessions are designed to help you identify stumbling blocks and continue to find the courage to succeed!
