Corporate Communications Award Program

The Corporate Communications Award program focuses on SGA member company programs that improve corporate effectiveness through the use of communications. Entries should be innovative and clearly demonstrate that communications were a cornerstone of the program that improved corporate effectiveness. All entries must have been implemented in the past two (2) years. The winner will be formally announced and awarded at the Natural Gas Connect July 15-17, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas.

All candidates will present their program by live video conference on June 5, 2019.

Member companies are encouraged to share their success stories for this awards program. Previous examples have included:

  • Rate Cases
  • Environmental Issues
  • Crisis or Natural Disasters
  • Executive Leadership Changes
  • Acquisitions/Divestitures

How to Enter and What to Expect

  • Please submit the name of your program, PowerPoint presentation and any accompanying files in email to andrea.williams@southerngas.org by Friday, May 24, 2019.  Your PowerPoint presentation should include any pictures, scanned articles, links to websites, etc. to describe your program. Please be sure your presentation includes the name, description and results of/or response to the program.
  • Each company will have 10 minutes to present the features and benefits of their program. Adherence to the 10-minute time limit will be taken into consideration when judging the entries.

  • The recipient of the award will be notified no later than June 14, 2019. Award will be presented formally in San Antonio during the Natural Gas Connect programming on July 15-17, 2019.

Judging Criteria

  • Were the goals and actions of the plan clearly defined?
  • Were there measurable results and were they good?
  • How was this program original and innovative?
  • Will there be a lasting company impact?
  • What is the sustainability of this program?
  • How did the program engage and involve employees?
  • What's the fun factor?
