SGA President and CEO Mike Grubb is Retiring

Mike Grubb, President and CEO

Mike Grubb, president and CEO of Southern Gas Association and Gas Machinery Research Council, will be retiring in December 2016. Mike has been with the Southern Gas Association for the past twenty years and has served as president and CEO for the last eight. He came to the Southern Gas Association in 1996 from Arkansas Western Gas Co., a local distribution company, where he managed a natural gas supply portfolio. Prior to joining Arkansas Western Gas, Mike worked in gas supply and business development for NOARK Pipeline, a division of Southwestern Energy Company.

If you know Mike, you know he is a people person—that is his favorite part of the job. He loves to meet new people in the industry and through the Southern Gas Association, learn their stories and watch them grow. Over the past two decades, he has made countless connections and friends while working at the Southern Gas Association, and many of these relationships have lasted long after the individual has left SGA or even the industry. As a second-generation natural gas guy, he wholeheartedly believes in the power of developing people and relationships to advance the natural gas industry.

Additionally, Mike is a former Dale Carnegie instructor and a graduate from the University of Houston with a Civil Engineering degree. He is a Certified Association Executive, active in the Dallas Fort Worth Association Executives Society, the Texas Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives. He is also former chair of the Executive Management Section Council for the American Society of Association Executives. Mike has served on the Fort Worth Convention and Visitor Bureau Advisory Board, Southwest Research Institute Advisory Board, Hyatt Customer Advisory Board and Board of Directors for the Texas Society of Association Executives.

In retirement, Mike looks forward to spending much more time at his lake house, traveling for leisure instead of business and sailing with Amber, his wife of 22 years.

Please join us in recognizing Mike Grubb for his years of service to the industry, the organization and the members of SGA.

Congratulations, Mike!
