- Knowledge On Dealing With The Public In An Emergency
- Mock Emergency Drill
It could happen to you. At a construction site, a backhoe hits something hard. Thinking its rock, the crew continues to work the area. Soon an explosion occurs. Will your company personnel know how to handle the resulting emergency? Would they be able to handle questions from the media and regulatory officials? How would a proper accident investigation be handled? How should a company prepare and plan for emergencies like these?
This workshop has been popular with attendees for several years and the 1999 workshop was expanded to include mock emergency drills. Additionally, based on feedback from past attendees, the "Dealing With the Media" and "Investigation of Natural Gas Fires and Explosions" sessions were expanded. These changes greatly enhanced the training and you won't want to miss the January 2008 offering.
Topics Discussed Will Include:
- Mock emergency drills and crisis response teams
- What happens when an accident occurs
- How to deal with the media, public officials and government regulatory personnel as they arrive at the scene
- How to conduct an effective accident investigation
- How to bring together all the official information gathered at the scene including recommendations for investigation procedures
- How to work with emergency response agencies
- Get an introduction to incident command systems

This workshop is beneficial for key personnel involved in emergency planning, accident investigation and anyone who might deal with the media, public officials and/or governmental agencies before, during or after an emergency.
