The SGA Environmental Inspection and Construction Compliance Workshop is designed for both new and experienced environmental inspectors.  If you've attended this Workshop in the past, this would be a good opportunity to review current issues.  If you're a new inspector, this workshop will help you identify your role as the environmental inspector and improve your skills.

NEW IN 2010....Environmental Inspection 101 has been added on Monday afternoon, February 1. This session is aimed at the new Inspector and will cover the basics of inspection including pre-construction, roles and responsibilities, and FERC plans andprocedures.

TARGET AUDIENCE

• Environmental Inspectors
• New construction or environmental managers who have not been involved with the construction phase of projects
• Seasoned construction or environmental managers who would like a refresher training
• Individuals involved in securing permits and approvals for pipeline projects
• Environmental managers, planners, project managers and engineers

INSTRUCTORS

Industry experts, consultants, and regulators with first-hand experience in environmental inspection are the instructors for this Workshop.   A combination of lectures, panel discussions, and group activities add to the value of this workshop.

REGISTRATION

To receive pre-conference information, including a preliminary attendance list, your registration should be in the SGA office before January 10.  The registration fee of $500 ($600 for non-SGA member companies) includes:

• Workbook & CD of all presentations
• Copy of the 2010 edition of "The Layman's Guide to Environmental Regulations"
• Lunch on Tuesday & Wednesday
• Breakfast on Tuesday & Wednesday
• Reception Tuesday evening
• All refreshment breaks

The Workshop begins on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and adjourns on Thursday at 12:00 noon.  All sessions are held at the Hilton Palacio del Rio

For hotel reservations, call the Hilton Palacio del Rio at 210-222-1400.  Be sure to tell them you are attending the SGA Environmental Permitting Workshop to get the workshop rate of $159 for single & double accommodations in 2010 and $164 for single & double accommodations in 2011. 

The hotel is located at 200 South Alamo on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

This workshop is scheduled just once each year.  Make sure you don't miss this opportunity!  In addition to improving your job performance, attendance at this workshop also provides you with 15 Professional Development Hours (PDHs).

THE SGA GOLF CHALLENGE

URS has made arrangements for golf prior to the Workshop.  The Challenge is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday at Canyon Springs Golf Club (recently rated Best Golf Course in San Antonio by Avid Golfer Magazine).  You can see the course at www.canyonspringsgc.com.

Sign up for the Challenge on the registration form.  The cost is $85 a person which includes green fee, range balls and dinner after the Tournament. Refreshments and prizes are provided by URS Corporation.
