Basic Commercial and Industrial Gas Marketing Training Program

  • Presentation on Project Economic Analysis from the Customers' Financial Point of VIew
  • A two-hour segment on "Selling to the Commercial and Industrial Markets" presented by Mickey Ford with the Advantage Plus Group
  • On Thursday morning, two Breakout Sessions will be offered on "Gas Technology for Foodservice Applications" and "Industrial Process Heat Treating and Drying".
  • Other major topics include:  "Gas Fuel Piping: System Design and Piping Options"; "Understanding Electric Utility Rates for Commercial and Industrial End-Users"; "Understanding the Electrode Boiler Competition"; and sessions on "Equipment for Space Heating," "Gas Boiler Options," "Combustion Air and Ventilation" and "Natural Gas Generators and Engine Applications".

Who Should Attend

This new SGA Training Course has been designed to benefit anyone who markets to commercial and industrial customers - or both, and wants to learn more about natural gas applications and technology for these market sectors.  Attendees will not only learn about natural gas equipment and technology, but will have an opportunity to gain knowledge on a number of key topics, such as understanding electric utility rates; comparing energy operating costs; project economic analysis; and participate in a selling skills session.

Registration

The registration fee for the Commercial and Industrial Marketing Training Program is $675 per person and will include three lunches, two receptions and a class dinner at Piedmont's Technology Center.  To register for this training course, click on the “Click to Register Online Now” icon at the top left of this page.  Fill out the form completely, Submit, and you will be sent a registration submission number by email.  You will be invoiced or your credit card will be charged, according to your billing information selection.

Course Attire

Dress for the Training Program is casual.

Hotel Reservations

SGA has secured two options for the attendees to select from.  Attendees can make reservations at either the LaQuinta Inn or the Embassy Suites Hotel.  The LaQuinta Inn has a $70 per night rate for a king suite and is located at 4900 South Tryon Street.  To make reservation at the LaQuinta Inn, call 704-523-5599 and ask for the Piedmont Natural Gas rate.  SGA also has some rooms available at the Embassy Suites Hotel, which is located at 4800 South Tryon Street in Charlotte.  The rate for the Embassy Suites is $124 per night.  To get that rate, you may call 1-800-Embassy or call the hotel directly at 704-527-8400 and ask for the SGA or Southern Gas Association rate.  Please note that the Embassy Suites rate includes breakfast each day and a cocktail reception each evening.  Both hotels are close to the Piedmont Gas Cooking Technology Center (4301 Yancey Road) where the training class will be held.
