He has consulted and trained leaders, managers, supervisors, and team leaders in such areas as: Positive InterAction Management, Communications, Organizational Development, Team Building, Workplace Diversity, Strategic Planning, Dispute Resolution / Mediation, Succession Planning, Classification and Compensation. He holds a Master's Degree in Counseling and Organizational Psychology from St. Mary's University and Doctoral level training in Adult Behavioral Management from the University of North Texas.

Scope

This workshop builds on the skills learned in previous "Basic Supervisory Skills" training conducted at this Conference. Attendees from past workshops at this Conference, as well as those not attending those sessions, will both benefit.

Recognizing that the responsibility for job performance rests squarely with the performer and not the manager or supervisor, participants will spend significant time 'applying' recognition, feedback, coaching and non-punishing discipline to a variety of 'actual' SGA problems and situations. Participants will be invited to complete a pre-training 'electronic survey' specially designed to quickly identify and format 'actual' job-related problems and issues. These 'situations' will be confidentially formatted into role-play scenarios. The training will incorporate the latest discoveries in "Emotional Intelligence (EI)" designed to enable leaders, supervisors, and coaches to maintain emotional balance in conducting effective problem-solving interactions. Learning will be further enhanced by instructor and participant interaction and feedback.

Highlights

During this workshop, participants will:

  • Review the "People Building!" principles learned in previous 'Basic Supervisory Skills' training.
  • Review and incorporate 'Core Values' as the foundation for effective emotional self-management tool for dealing with difficult people and situations.
  • Review the impact of 'Workplace Diversity' and 'InterAction Styles' on performance management and customer service demands.
  • Review the simple-but-effective '3-Step Model' for Coaching and Positive Performance Management.
  • Apply the 3-Step Model to a rich variety of 'actual' performance situations.
