After carrying out assessments of pipeline condition, operators investigate reported anomalies by excavation. During the excavation process an opportunity existes to gather valuable information about the anomaly; the pipe; the coating; the corrosion products; soil information etc.

This session explored how such information can be gathered and utilized and what benefits accrue.
